KY meditation to ward off death
What It Will Do for You
Yogis used to use this kriya to ward off death. It can
be seen in Egyptian pictures as well. The meditation gives a mystical power
How to Do It
Sit in rock pose (on the heels) or in vir asan (sitting on one heel with the free foot flat on the ground immediately in front of the knee that comes up to the chest).
Relax the arms down with the elbows bent. Raise the forearms up and in toward each other until the hands meet in front of the chest at the level of the heart. The elbows remain comfortably resting against the sides of the body. Interlace the fingers of both hands. Let the sides of the thumbs touch and pull the thumbs back.
The eyes are 9 parts open, one part closed. Deeply inhale, then completely exhale as you chant RAA MA DAA SA, SAA SAY SO HUNG three times to the following tune:
Practice this meditation for 31 minutes. Upon completion, raise the arms up straight over the head with the fingers still interlaced and the palms up. Inhale, hold and stretch powerfully. Repeat twice more, then relax.
After practice, you can increase the repetition of the
mantra from three times per breath to five tirnes per breath.
